Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Training Supervisor, DC Power, is an essential part of the hiring and training / development process within CPG. The training supervisor will work with leadership to identify training requirements and develop plans for training new and existing employees in DC Power. Additionally, a training supervisor has advanced experience with instructional methods, team coaching and skill development. This will ensure all employees are properly trained and work to comply with company standards. Our technicians can use these skills to support the rest of their team and their mission.

Position Description:

Supervises and coordinates the operations training program activities within the DC Power department. Training Supervisor duties include enhancing the potential in employees by providing them the required technical training to be successful in career growth.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize meetings with management before preparing course materials to ensure a detailed understanding of training subjects and processes.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identify resource needs; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements.
  • Work with Safety team to instruct, train, and enforce best safety practices.
  • Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates training personnel; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Continually research methods and techniques in workplace training and remain up to date on developments within the DC Power industry. Update training curriculum accordingly.
  • Develop and administer tests after the completion of training courses to determine the effectiveness of training strategies. Utilizing industry certified standards for testing.
  • Actively seek training methods and best practices from leadership to facilitate training employees.
  • Perform classroom style training, hands-on training, and field training for all employees.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance training.
  • Establish a detailed training budget for the DC Power organization.
  • Discuss training needs and goals with management on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis to establish training needs based on projected changes, production processes, and other factors.
  • Recruiting/inviting skilled personnel to conduct different training sessions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
  • Familiarity with modern training methods.
  • Confidence in conducting workshops and sessions.
  • Ability to develop training materials.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years experience in DC Power leadership role.
  • Experience with training and developing employees.
  • Knowledge of training principles, practices, concepts, and methods.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Occasionally move objects 10-50lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
