Verbal Beginnings is a leading Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provider serving children diagnosed with autism. We are looking for entry-level and experienced candidates to fill multiple needs in our Northern Virginia market. We provide extensive training to anyone interested in learning about ABA therapy and autism and have a passion for working with children!
Location & Schedule:
Where:
Sessions typically occur in our client’s natural environment (in the client’s home, community, and/or school).
When:
Sessions typically occur 2-5 days per week for 2-3 hours, most often during after school hours between 3pm-7pm. However, schedules and hours will vary based on the needs of our clients.
Compensation:
$23.00 - $29.00 per hour
$23.00 for non-RBTs
$23.00 - $26.00 for experienced RBTs (plus eligible for additional $3/hr. bonus)
The Role:
Our ABA therapists are an integral part of our team at Verbal Beginnings, as they provide medically necessary ABA-based therapy services to clients diagnosed with autism. ABA therapists work under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans to address communication, behavior, feeding, ADLs, and social skills. The ABA therapist / Registered Behavior Technician collects and records data to monitor the progress of a treatment plan and works in collaboration with the clinical supervisor to update the treatment plan as necessary.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification - All ABA therapists that are not RBT certified will be required to complete the RBT coursework and pass the RBT exam within 90 days of employment. Verbal Beginnings will cover the cost of the training and the exam once passed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. Bachelors Degree (completed or in progress) in Psychology or a related field such as Education or Speech Therapy is preferred.
6+ months experience working with children (preference will be given to those with experience with autism, behavioral problems, and/or other developmental disabilities)
Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
Passion for working with children!
Availability to work at least 3 weekdays each week for at least 2-3 hours per day (most of our needs are between 3pm-7pm)
