Technica Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of Director of Business Development & Capture to identify and collaborate with U.S. Air Force Cyberspace stakeholders. Successful candidate will identify and shape near-term and long-term opportunities, build a pipeline and conduct activities associated with opportunity identification, qualification, and capture.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop strategic (3-5 year) and tactical (1-2 year) plans for business growth
Leverage existing and develop and maintain new key business relationships in the government marketplace with primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities for business expansion
Generate and maintain extensive knowledge of current developments in the Air Force and related DoD Cyber offices in order to assess current and upcoming needs and to identify and qualify opportunities
Provide feedback and recommendations for Cyber R&D and Cyber Operations Capability and Services development and refinement based on identified requirements in target markets
Capture complex services contracts meeting or exceeding financial targets
Develop value propositions through program strategies, supporting business cases and project plans
Develop early win strategies and evolve the strategy throughout the Capture lifecycle
Strengthen key vendor, supplier and partner alliances and bring new products/solutions capability into the company’s portfolio
Maintain and foster territory relationships with key partners and OEM manufacturers
Write complete and concise competitive bid analyses for executive management review
This position will require travel of 10-20%.
The position can support remote and a hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate would be based in Colorado or the Los Angeles area.
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $170,000 - $235,000. Please note salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers multiple factors such as responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Proven track record of contract wins that met and/or exceed revenue targets.
16 years of experience; prior business development experience.
Experience working with the newly formed AF Space Force Command
Knowledge of the DoD Cyber programs and proven successful DoD Cyber business development experience required
Conversant in areas of cyber operations and related Air Force mission operations.
Knowledge and experience with DoD and Air Force procurement and contracting processes
Proven ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients
Proven ability to utilize critical thinking skills required to identify/shape opportunities and develop value propositions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel – executive management, management, technical and administrative
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously
Minimum DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired:
Direct military or civilian DoD experience in cyber warfare mission related organizations
7+ years of business development experience; minimum 10 years of overall experience in related fields
Experience working in a Shipley-based or other structured capture environment.
Experience working the entire capture process- to include team building, developing win themes, procurement influence, and strategic positioning
Experience with engineering services level of effort determination, competitive analysis, and project pricing-to-win
New business wins in excess of $50M Total Contract Value.
Won non-RFP contract work of at least $1M.
