Job Description
As a Financial Analyst/Staff Accountant at MDVA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, providing insightful analysis, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist in financial planning, and support senior management in making informed strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations to management for corrective action.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
Create financial models and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Assist in audits and financial reviews as needed.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial data.
Financial Support:
Provide support to senior finance team members as needed for ad-hoc analysis and special projects.
Assist in the preparation of investor and board reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Masters degree or CPA designation preferred).
3+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.
Strong proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, QuickBooks, and financial modeling software.
Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
