The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, (MAPMG) is one of the nations premier multispecialty medical groups and is the largest integrated medical group in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1980, the medical group has more than 1,700 Permanente physicians spanning more than 50 subspecialties. Together, we serve approximately 800,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia at 34 area medical centers, plus several community hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
Job Summary:
MAPMG is seeking a Financial Analyst to extract, manipulate, and distribute information from data systems to organizational leadership. They will also support and prepare comprehensive analyses and reports related to finance and operations. This position offers a hybrid work schedule of going into the office on an as-needed basis. This position will be based out of Rockville, MD. Candidates must be local or willing to re-locate to the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area.
Responsibilities:
Extracts data from multiple systems using tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, and MS Access
Compiles and generates reports from KPHC, Clarity, and workforce management data systems
Performs data analysis and provides consultative and advisory recommendations to leadership to support data requirements for strategic operational and financial decisions
Compiles and distributes financial data provided by regional operations and finance staff
Maintains the budget system and manages submissions for overall budget changes
Validates budget information against HR systems and KPHC
Participates in the planning and development of service area, departmental and/or functional budgets
Participates in and/or leads projects of moderate to complex scope as assigned
Conducts ongoing user education and provides management consultation on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies and source data and systems
Develops spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides, and supporting materials for presentation and analysis of financial and operational reports
Monitors compliance with policies and procedures related to financial management and budget systems and related automated systems. Travel within the service area and region as required
Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente’s code of conduct) by maintaining confidentiality, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements, and Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a finance, accounting, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) plus years related experience in financial analysis and budgeting
Proficient in data retrieval and manipulation from various applications including MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, SAS, Python, and KP Health Connect
Able prepare and conduct professional presentations
Advanced proficiency in PC based spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions such as graphs, pivot tables, macros, and database management
Demonstrated experience in translating business-user needs into accurate reports and deliverables
Highly developed knowledge of finance theories such as presents values theory/cash flow analysis
Experience working with to develop resource needs within the scope of financial and operational plans
Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Works under limited guidance; accountable to complete work assignments
Travel to various medical office building may be required
