Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to successfully manage the daily operational functions of the branch and manage fully in the absence of a Branch Operations Manager. Is responsible for assisting the Branch Operations Manager in increasing levels of excellence in sales, service and operational performance of the branch. Having an integral knowledge of the Bank’s deposit and loan products is a key component of this position. This position engages customers with their financial needs by regularly promoting, describing, selling and cross-selling other bank products and services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the branch fully in the absence of the Branch Operations Manager.
Manages administrative and operational duties in the branch, including decisions with daily overdrafts within authority limits and a review of daily deposit reports.
Ensures operational processes and guidelines are adhered to and observes the appearance of the branch, reporting repairs and maintenance issues promptly.
Exercises independent judgement in handling policy decisions related to customer satisfaction, problem solving and employee performance. Fosters a positive and supportive team environment.
Actively participates in bank community involvement activities. Maintains effective time and stress management skills. Maintains a professional image and appearance at all times. Exhibits efficiency and timeliness in conflict resolution.
Follows consultative sales approach and executes the Banks service standards.
Provides superior customer service through listening to customers, effectively pro ling, and recommending financial solutions that addresses their needs. Greets and addresses customers and prospective customers by name whenever possible, building rapport while further developing the relationship with customers, earning their trust and confidence in our staff and Bank.
Assists branch team in problem solving with customers, resolving customer problems, answering inquiries and explaining changes in procedures.
Promotes and cross-sells bank products and services while providing quality service and information to customers and prospective clients. Participates in team sales campaigns to include outreach to prospects by mail, email and outbound calling e orts.
Pursues on-going education and training of the Bank’s products, services and other lines of business.
Assists management in facilitating the following:
staff meetings, staff training, product knowledge and coaching. Completes on-going courses to maintain required compliance knowledge requirements.
Performs all customer service responsibilities as required to include opening new accounts, account maintenance, research requests and processing teller transactions.
Possesses a thorough knowledge of customer service responsibilities and leads the training of new customer service representatives. Provides direction and/or insight to other branch employees on how to perform their job well and contributes to the branch growth and success.
Handles complex transactions as required.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
Qualifications and Skills Needed:
Five - eight years of progressive branch office experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors/Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Competent computer skills
Ability to multi-task and follow detailed instructions.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle money, operate office equipment, and communicate effectively with others.
May be required to lift and carry up to 30 pounds in the form of computer paper, cash drawer or other items Ability to lift and transport boxes of coin.
Ability to apply visual attention, dexterity and coordination in the regular operation of computer, branch related and general office equipment.
Working Conditions:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
Requires ability to travel to make occasional business development calls and attend off-site meetings.
Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with extreme accuracy.
Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
