You will be responsible for various tasks including providing support and supervision for the PSWs, ensuring a co-operative approach to meeting resident`s needs and giving high quality care.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and administer medications according to the rules and regulations of the College of Nurses and Villa policies.Assist residents with the personal care tasks of daily living.Observe, document and report any changes in the residents’ condition. Responsible for management of nursing unit activities during the shift, through delegation by the Clinical Manager.Demonstrate effective time management, planning and organizing of work activities.Maintain accurate and confidential records.Maintain positive and open communications with residents, residents’ families and other staff members.Communicate regularly with the PSWs to increase awareness of resident care requirements, priorities and policies.Ensure that resident care is satisfactory, and problems are quickly and effectively resolved.Carry out physicians’ orders, perform basic skills as listed in the Standard of Practice, and assess residents’ condition and report changes and concerns to the Care Coordinator and/or physician.Ensure maximum safety for residents and staff at all times.Deal with emergency situations through professional response and communication.
