The Senior Software Engineer works in a team that designs and codes and maintains commercial payment, financial, and compliance applications. While this is not a management position at this time, leadership skills are sought for growth and progression. Among the general practices:
Translate specifications into product features according to Autoscribes coding best practices
Ensure successful operation of software throughout DEV, QA, STAGING, DEMO, and PROD environments
Design, implement, and maintain databases needed to support applications
Create and maintain automated software build processes
Provide input during Sprint planning and as needed during Sprints on coding and database design
Demo new product features from time-to-time during Sprint review meetings
Participate in daily Scrum meeting and providing updates on user story progress
Participate in Sprint retrospectives to foster the team's continuous improvement
Ensure adherence to company best coding practices in code reviews and unit testing
Occasionally providing developer-level support to client services teams for issues that may arise from time-to-time
Provide support to QA and the product release team during new feature deployments to production
Integrate application source into a single source code repository (currently GitHub)
Ensure applications' successful operations throughout DEV, QA, Staging, Demo, and Production environments
Show a strong desire for continuous learning and maintaining ones certifications for example the requisite for a companys Microsoft partnership
Position Type and Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position that requires participation in product deployments which can occasionally occur outside of normal work hours.
This position requires minimal, less than 1% travel.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors' degree or higher preferred in a technology related field.
5 or more years' experience in .Net development or related framework
Implementation and practice of Scrum Methodology
Architecture and design of client-server applications and application development
Development in .Net C# and TDD/BDD with CI development practices
WCF REST and SOAP Web Services
Windows Services development
Transact-SQL and MS SQL Server management
Source control: GitHub, Git, VSS, TFS, SVN
Application Servers: MS IIS
Selenium integration testing, SOAP and REST WS testing (e.g. SoapUI)
