Position Overview

Avantus Federal, recenty acquired by QinetiQ US, seeks an experienced Accountant/Biller to join the Avantus Accounting Team. This successful candidate will primarily focus on project setup, billings, and time entry in third party systems

Responsibilities

• Project Setup – Ensure the integrity of the Contract Master File by entering and reviewing the information contained within the module against the contract and its modifications and inactivating completed contracts
• Time entry into 3rd party timekeeping systems
• Responsible for the preparation of billings for submissions to customers of various types of government contracts
• Reconcile billing data to Financial Reports
(PSR, Revenue Worksheet, Labor Summary) and third-party time keeping systems
• Accounts receivable collections
• Responsible for identifying and reconciling unbilled costs
• Assist with year-end audits, internal audits, and various information requests from customers
• Special Projects – Work on special projects as workload allows

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
(or equivalent experience in lieu of Degree)
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience with Federal Government regulations, contracts, and billings
• Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on MS Excel
• Strong working knowledge of ERP System Software
(Costpoint preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
• Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be deadline driven, fast paced, organized and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The status of applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Executive Order 14042 are subject to change depending on applicable court orders and the course of ongoing litigation
Candidates may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption

Preferred Qualifications

• Deltek Costpoint software experience preferred
