Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Security Data Architect to join our team in the Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work as an integral part of the Chief Architect team, including cyber architect and cloud security architect SMEs, to collect key stakeholder requirements to characterize system use-case methodologies from customer requirements and apply to a technical specification

Collect information on the enterprise data sources, formats and key stakeholder use cases to design a data flow architecture around multiple system event types inside the functional delivery realm, e.g., merging different event types to provide an enriched data set

Identify configuration processes for the system architecture to assist factoring ETL Load, cost, and time of delivery, assess data workflow dynamics, and document approaches to ensure efficient and effective data usage as an invaluable enterprise asset

Work with the data owners to ensure proper data sets are identified, pre-conditioned or coordinated for extraction or dissemination

Determine and ensure proper data tagging on event feeds to align to the holistic functional use-case assessments and concepts

Consolidate a collection of metadata, data management and search tools into a CyberSecurity Data Catalog.

Turn data into action with intelligent analytics and clear insights. Define raw input requirements to support data models and final outputs for quick analysis and summary reporting for actions.

Draw and extrapolate particular conclusions from each dataset and correlate to solve the problem statement

Basic Qualifications:

Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent and 7 years of related experience; or Masters degree with 3-5 years of experience

Ability to create dashboard content and visualizations to demonstrate the ability to provide actionable intelligence, e.g., leverage machine learning (ML) make the enterprise cyber data more easily consumable, to identify uncommon characteristics of a dataset and ensure a better/fuller use of cyber data

Ability to understand and architect each component of the Elastic Software stack to size and estimated system costs for data ingest and associated customer SLA requirements

Ability to assess the Extract Transform Load (ETL) layer based on identified data types, data ingest queue factoring, indexing and retention strategies

Ability to understand the types of data assets through discovery, description and organization of datasets.

Ability to understand Splunk/Splunk Add Ons and how the data Catalog will integrate with Splunk visualizations and dashboards.

Ability to conduct infrastructure assessments for system high availability (zoning and rack-awareness), system hardware typing and network bandwidth utilization calculations

Ability to provide system configuration recommendations and vendor best practices to integration engineers to install new Elastic Stack systems and associated components

Experience recommending device connection and installation strategies across multiple networks and platforms, including but is not limited to orchestration and automation strategies

Ability to provide development support to the emerging requirements of event ingest

Experience in design and development of customer Beats or Logstash configurations to enable the audit collection segment to either accept or extract data from an audit generation system such as an application database, file or syslog stream

Ability to work with the chief architect, other architecture team members, and development team members to ensure system components support data flow architecture for processing and storing the data sets

Ability to provide system setting recommendations and operations sustainment strategies, e.g., system data backups based on Curator Processes, redundant clusters for high availability, etc.

Ability to establish and implement a Data Governance Workflow focusing primarily on meta data, data sources, data quality, policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the streaming data, big data, data lakes and data visualization

Experience with Data Integration, Data Engineering and Data Lake implementations using ETL, BigData and Cloud Technology.

Provide Recommendations for a Data Library using data indexing strategy and best practices.

Data Architect and Management certification is desired

Top Secret SCI Clearance with a Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
