Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Chief Engineer who has worked with both government and commercial customers to join our team in the Herndon, VA area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Leading the strategy and design of IT services to deliver advanced technical solutions to a diverse group of Intelligence Community customers.
* Leading a team of 20+ resources providing infrastructure and platform solutions, including modern applications of infrastructure-as-code, APIs, software-defined networks and security perimeters, data pipelines, workflows, and modern workloads, and services to include integration with Enterprise continuous monitoring and auditing requirements, IDAM/IAM/ICAM structures, CyberSecurity integration, and alignment to the FEAF or other similar Enterprise Architecture frameworks

Leading collaboration meetings and working with all key stakeholders to define requirements and deliver a refined solution.
*

Implementing strategies to identify, recommend, design, implement and capitalize on innovative solutions and automation opportunities to drive efficiencies.

Familiarity with MEAN/MERN technologies, microservice architectures, DevOPS methodologies and concepts are greatly desired.
* Evaluating Service Level Agreements and how best to measure those requirements against stated service specification goals.

Developing and measuring Performance Analytics to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
*

Implementing technical and process changes in a highly complex infrastructure environmentthat ps multiple locations.
* Utilizing a Products and Services Catalog for the development of engineering solutions.
* Introducing new enterprise technologies, automations, solutions, and processes to improve availability, management, monitoring, support, patching, and scalability.
* Working collaboratively with Enterprise, Domain, and Solution architects, Operations Leads, leading Software Designers, and development leads, to balance levels of effort across various implementations in a greater software macro-system, connect business and system requirements with architectural intent and translate them to appropriate implementations within an Agile environment while maintaining boundaries on scope, complexity and cost to design and provision infrastructure and platform capabilities that yield a flexible environment that supports the known business and technical requirements.
* The Chief Engineer will be responsible for sequencing development implementations and formulating a long-range roadmap and release schedule, all design efforts, trade studies, determining cost-benefit analysis of different technologies and implementation approaches, managing development risk, planning and supervising execution of the SDLC, collaborating with the Information Systems Security Officer to plan and achieve ATO and ensure all implementations are in-line with Compliance Requirements
Basic Qualifications: * 8 - 20 Years relevant work experience and a Master's Degree in a relevant field
* Five (5) years' experience directly related to provisioning Infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-code, software defined networks, and building APIs in a data-intensive environment
* Leadership experience in prioritizing, planning, and successfully delivering multiple projects in parallel and in cooperation with a production environment with an engineering staff and closely collaborating with operations staff and/or site reliability engineering
* Demonstrated expertise providing oral and written communication to management while providing technical leadership to engineering and operational teams.
* Demonstrated experience with development, implementation, and optimization of technology life cycle processes.
* Experience with recruiting engineering and software development talent and the organizational skills to align personnel to software development and engineering activities that best strengthen a team working in an innovative environment, and leading those teams through the formative start-up culture of forming-storming-norming-performing
* Candidate should have a desired mix of technology, first implementation of new technologies, supporting management, working with non-technical customers in a room, and writing technical briefs.

Must be accustomed to working with highly talented developers in a team setting against a blank white-board where requirements are ill-defined, and working with customers in a highly rigorous (split-and-polish) boardroom environment where deference to each is required, and potentially unique, challenging perspectives can exist on both sides

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

Must be willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS to client locations at least 10% of the time
* Move about freely in a laboratory setting
