Senior Audit Manager

Cotton, a Sikich Company has a need for a Financial Statement Audit Manager with 8+ or more years of relevant experience to perform financial statement audits. We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join our assurance practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
Accounting degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant
(CPA) or CPA candidacy is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Financial statement audit experience preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a U
S. federal secret security clearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with groups such as clients, peers, and management
• Knowledge in any of the following areas:-

• • • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
    (GAAP).
    • Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
    (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS).
    • System and Organization Controls
    (SOC) Reports
    • Federal Audit Manual
    (FAM).

• Other requirements for federal reporting and accounting, such as U
S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) bulletins and circulars, the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), etc
• Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite
(Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work 2-3 days per week from office in Alexandria, VA

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise, delegate, motivate, and provide feedback to the team
• Review documents, records, reports, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness
• Monitor and plan work to meet internal and contractual deadlines
• Conduct testing
• Design and oversee the execution of audit procedures, including sampling and testing
• Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
• Experience with business development process
• Prepare and review acceptable workpapers, write-ups, and memos, and reports
• Own assigned work areas
Consistently bring all work to a client-ready level of completion by managing yourself, or the work of others.
• Communicate with IG and management customers in a timely and professional manner, including conducting walkthrough and interviews individuals associated with the audit
• Be able to create, submit, and track Prepared by Client
(PBC) items.
• Follow engagement protocols for PBC items
• Hold preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with manager, or partner
• Report audit findings to manager or partner and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions
• Perform quality control checks
• Create internal and external meeting agendas
• Mentor senior and staff team members
• Maintain excellent client relations for the firm
• Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
• Experience with business development process
• Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and company/client deadlines and abide by all company policies

Covid-19 Vaccination: As a federal covered contractor, this position may require the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if work is performed for a client where full vaccination is a contractual requirement (fully vaccinated means completion of the requisite number of doses of a vaccine approved or authorized for use or emergency use by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and at least two weeks have passed since you received the final dose). Vaccination documentation can be provided on your first day, but is not required. Vaccine documentation may be requested in the future. Your Work Hours: Full-time. Core hours are 9am-4pm.

Your Work Place/Travel: Full-time Hybrid work is preferred. Travel may be required. You must transport a laptop and working documents to these sites.
