Senior Accountant, Reporting

A market-leading construction/project management/engineering organization based in the Reston/Herndon area of VA is in the market for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This person will report to the Assistant Controller and be a key part of the close, reporting and consolidation process for the company. Must be local to DC metro area and prior experience within a large company environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries to assist in the close and consolidation process for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
Perform monthly account reconciliations within the general ledger
Prepare financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP
Analyze accounting/financial data for anomalies
Review contracts, process summaries and other documents for accuracy and compliance purposes
Keys
4+ years experience in an accounting capacity
Bachelor or Masters in Accounting or related field
Prior experience working for a publicly-traded organization, public accounting - applying GAAP principles
CPA license or in progress
Ability to maintain sense of urgency for critical issues
Ability to commute to Reston VA 1-2 days/week
