Senior Accountant - General Ledger

We are working with a Fortune 1000 company in the DC area looking for a Senior Accountant for their General Ledger team. This role will directly report to the Director of Accounting and will be primarily responsible for supporting the General Ledger team. This role will collaborate with other corporate departments as well as division and regional finance teams to accomplish objectives. Core Responsibilities:

• Support Month-end and year-end closing
• Provide financial status information by preparing special reports, completing special projects
• Take charge and coordinates external audits
• Analyze data for the purpose of supporting business decision-making
• Introduce and develop new procedures to improve the accounting process
• Engage and analyze the companys working capital and cash flow
• Manage intercompany reconciliations monthly
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and post correcting entries
• Conduct training for new and existing staff in related departments
• Support the updating of a Standard Operating Procedure
(SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out new procedures

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance is required
• 5+ years of related accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
• ERP experience with multiple platforms is preferred
• CPA is required
• MBA preferred
