Software Engineer - SME

NS2 Mission is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed professional to fill the role of Software Engineer SME. This position will be joining our team based in the Tysons, VA area. This position will focus on full-stack development for advanced search and data analytics to enable users of our cloud-based application. The developer will be responsible for understanding and improving underlying data models, building new ways to enrich and correlate the data, and communicating system features and concepts to other team members, end users, and program management. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the development team, debugging various development and O&M processes, and maintaining system documentation. Key Responsibilities:

Work with fellow team members to understand user requirements, design application features, and build advanced application capabilities for search and discovery

Assist data engineers with data modeling and ETL processes to make raw data usable within the ecosystem of our search application

Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for our systems to continually improve the power, speed, and usability of our services

Required Qualifications:

15 or more years of relevant experience

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle on cloud infrastructure

Experience programming in Java, and Spring/Spring Boot, or other related programming languages

Hands on experience working with RESTful API's

Experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases

Knowledge of software practices and configuration management

Experience with JIRA, Git, Artifactory, or related tools

Experience working on large mission critical software projects

Experience with continuous integration

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment Desired Qualifications:

Experience with person entity resolution across datasets

Experience with visualization frameworks such as D3

js, V Charts, or Chartkick

Experience working with Graph databases

Experience with Elasticsearch

Experience with Extract, Load, and Transform

(ETL) tools

Experience with Amazon Web Services
