Job Description Grader
This tool is freely provided to assist students and recent graduates in understanding instances of unconscious bias within job applications.
What is Diversity & Inclusion?
Diversity is the practice of empowering individuals by appreciating and respecting what makes them different. Inclusion is centred around a collective effort and adoption of practices in which groups or individuals with different backgrounds are welcomed and equally treated.
* The tool is not to be used to draw a definitive conclusion as to an organizations commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, but it is provided to give the user guidance as to the nature of the language that is present.
Methodology & Sources
The tool analyses how job descriptions can lean towards certain applicants through its language. The tool follows the following metrics to produce an overall score; for masculine coded words, the lower the percentage the better. For femine coded words, the higher the percentage the better. For education bias whereby there are less barriers to entry, the lower the number between 1 and 5 the better. For heavy use of jargon, the lower the percentage the better and for spelling and grammar, the lower the number between 1 and 5, the better.
