Server

When hiring a Server, it's important to remember that although it is an entry level role into the restaurant / culinary industry, they are the face of your business, greeting and seating your customers, taking their orders, handling payments as well as dealing with any queries or complaints.  So although a Server position is often considered the first rung on the ladder, you need to ensure you are hiring the most suitable person for the role.

The skills and personality traits that enable a Server to thrive in this role include being reliable, enthusiastic, can cope well under pressure, are able to work weekends, public holidays and other unsociable hours, enjoy dealing with members of the public and can tactfully deal with any complaints.
